This is why DoSomething.org is activating thousands of young people to connect with older adults this Valentine’s Day through the Love Letters Challenge. Winter is a prime time for isolation, and Valentine’s Day can be particularly difficult for many people, especially for those who have lost their loved ones and are alone. (One group of folks who could really use some love on Valentine’s Day is older adults. Join DoSomething’s Senior Homies campaign to swap stories with an older adult and fight social isolation. You'll also earn volunteer credits and be entered to win a $1,000 scholarship!) Both organizations encourage youth and others to make an older adult feel extra special on Valentines Day. DoSomething.org is a youth activism organization which encourages young people to become active in their communities and engage in issues affecting seniors, the homeless, fighting bullying, hate crimes, environmental issues, fighting Celebrate yourself and your single friends this V-Day -- because you’re awesome! Listen to and share these anti-Valentine’s Day anthems (crowdsourced from DoSomething members!) with a friend.
