Valentine’s Day reminds us of the love we have for our spouses, families, and even friends and coworkers. But, ultimately, we should be reminded of the love Christ has for His church. Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. (John 15:13) There is no greater love than the love of Christ for us, His bride. Be full in Christ’s love today and on this coming Valentine’s Day. Be encouraged. Grasp how wide and long and high and deep the love of God is for YOU. A love that surpasses knowledge. Ultimately, when we show this kind of love to others, we point them to Christ. Valentine’s Day is a day to celebrate love! This includes celebrating the love God has for us and the love He commanded us to spread. It’s a day that isn’t only about romantic love, as Jesus Christ himself mentions love 759 times in the NIV version of the Bible. To forget that romance is about Jesus is to forget his first great miracle at Cana.
