Absolutely. Just because you aren't an official couple doesn't mean Valentine's Day doesn't exist to you. If I were you, I'd question whether or not he was interested in furthering the relationship. Guys aren't stupid. If they're in a precarious situation with a girl (ie: dating but not official), they're going to remember stuff like Valentine I'm just really disappointed and angry at my boyfriend. He's a good guy but he can be thoughtless sometimes. I was expecting a little effort today because, you know, it's Valentine's Day. Instead I don't get anything. Yesterday I was waiting for my boyfriend to wish me a happy Valentine’s Day but when it came around 6 o’clock and he still didn’t say anything about it I brought up how it hurt my feeling because I felt like he forgot it was valentines and he knew we already couldn I really hate valentines day and it seems like so many people are getting upset over what their partners didn't do. If you are upset because he never does anything nice all the other days of the year then fuck him. He didn't wish me a Happy Valentines, or anything. We've been dating a few months so it's our first valentines. He gave me a gift a few days ago because our anniversary falls in the same month but that's it. I told him later that I wanted to be thought of more, like more thought into the gift or the dinner/activity. it wasn’t. wrong on my behalf to expect him to at least wish me a happy valentine’s day. expectations damage reality. i figured since it’s been a few months, he would have done so. not even from a romantic approach, but an acknowledgement. As an example: If my way to offer and receive affection for my special someone is through sharing quality time with them and they just blow me off on Valentine's Day, I'd probably feel hurt too, unless we'd both discussed it and decided that Valentine's day didn't really hold any significance for us.
