For mine and my SO's anniversary (which is only a week and a half off from Valentine's Day), I did a 365 note jar. The idea is that the person gets to open up one note every day for the next year with a message of some sort from you, usually things like your favorite memories with them, reasons you love/appreciate them. Hey Valentine's Day is my birthday too! It's awesome when you're with someone cause all the pressure is on her but when you're single Valentine's Day can be doubly lonely. Pro-tip: If you try and take a nice sweet girl out for dinner on Valentine's day and the restaurant is all booked up. I have a friend who I've know since I was 5. She and i happened to find ourselves both single and close to eachother on Valentine's Day. So we jokingly decided to spend it together so we aren't "total losers". I dress up, shirt, tie, jacket and drive 30 min to pick her up and she's in a slinky red dress with matching high heels. That was me until I was 27. I met my wife the Valentine’s Day after. Get 1 thing that is a traditional romantic gift, and get 1 thing that says something about your girlfriend’s personality. Or, even better, combine the two. For example, if she loves whales, you could get her candy that’s shaped like whales. It makes you want love all the more, which I think is a good thing.
