Barbara Gordon is the daughter of Gotham City's Police Commissioner James Gordon, and was forbidden by her overprotective father from joining the GCPD. Instead, she took on the identity of Batgirl and was a crime-fighting partner of Batman's for years. But that all ended when the Joker shot her through the spine. I would love to see a Hollywood version of Oracle but I think the first film is set too early in Batman's career to feature that version of Barbara. Following the death of her father, James Gordon, she becomes the Oracle and leads a group of vigilantes within the Gotham City-State known as The Outsiders in their fight against corrupt Senator and Wayne Industries CEO Thomas Elliot.
