This classic valentine’s poem is fun for kids to memorize: It was a huge hit! It gave me the idea to use the same concept, but with monsters for Valentine's Day. There are several patterns provided for students to create their own unique monster. Student can use the heart template to write about who/what they love. Younger students could use the space to illustrate, while older students could write. I love these little countdown poems. And this one is extra special because you use a different child’s name for each of the valentines. I know when I was teaching Grade 1 my students LOVED to see their names written in a poem or story.
