I get the hate for Valentine's Day but I still do nice things for my girlfriend because today is an excuse to go all out. If it was only Valentine's Day that her husband ignored, maybe your condescension would be reasonable (though still extremely sexist) but he doesn't even give a shit about her birthday. “I don’t want a Valentine’s gift,” I told him. “I’m not tricking you or testing you or trying to give you subtle hints. I used to do things for my wife on VD. Then; one year; 2 days before VD we lost an important person in our lives which resulted in us not even realizing that the day was apon us for years . Valentines day puts a lot of pressure on single people, and a lot of pressure on couples and it's not usually good.
